Platform family is the deciding field

The official FAQ names Rock Band 4 instruments as modern controllers that work natively on their supported platforms. For a useful compatibility answer, identify whether the guitar is the Xbox or PlayStation edition and keep its original receiver or pairing method.

What the public FAQ does not settle

It does not provide a receiver-by-receiver table, promise that every old firmware revision behaves identically or turn a console instrument into a universal PC controller. Those cases stay out of the native result until model-level documentation is public.

Troubleshooting order for launch

  1. Identify the exact platform edition and original receiver.
  2. Confirm the target console recognizes the controller outside Stage Tour.
  3. Update the controller or receiver firmware if its manufacturer provides an updater.
  4. Then test the Stage Tour input assignment and calibration flow.
