What Stage Tour officially says

Modern controllers from CRKD, PDP Riffmaster and Rock Band 4 are named as working natively on the platforms those devices support. The limiting phrase matters: a PlayStation controller does not become an Xbox controller simply because Stage Tour supports the product family.

Legacy controller boundary

Xbox 360, Wii, PS3 and PS2 instruments may work, but consoles will often need an adapter. PC is described as supporting the broadest legacy range. Individual receivers and adapters are not given a complete official public matrix, so the checker avoids a simple yes for old gear.
